Beyond the Resume

About me

I’ve spent more than 25 years leading technology through change — fixing broken systems, building stronger teams, improving security, and helping organizations use technology in ways that actually make work better. I’m at my best in complicated environments where there’s a real problem to solve, people to bring together, and a better path forward to build.

Technology Leader. Problem Solver. Builder.

I start by listening, understanding what’s really getting in the way, and separating the important problems from the noise. From there, I focus on practical solutions that improve reliability, reduce risk, and make technology easier for people to use.

I’m curious by nature and rarely leave well enough alone. I like figuring out how things work, fixing what doesn’t, learning something new, and helping people when I can. That carries beyond technology into volunteer work, community projects, travel, hands-on projects, and whatever new adventure happens to catch my attention.

What I Bring

I’m a lifelong learner who stays curious about what’s changing and what might work better. I’ve built my career by learning new systems, asking questions, adapting quickly, and turning that knowledge into practical improvements for the people and organizations I serve.

I bring a mix of strategy and hands-on experience. I’m comfortable talking with executives about priorities and risk, then turning around and working through the details with the people doing the work. That balance has been a big part of how I’ve led technology throughout my career.

Beyond the Work

I’m not great at sitting still. Life has taken me all over the U.S. and to Ethiopia, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Costa Rica. Along the way, I’ve found myself in volunteer projects, strange adventures, meaningful conversations, and more than a few places where I had no idea what I was doing when I got there. That’s usually when things get interesting. I like saying yes, figuring it out, helping where I can, and collecting the kind of stories that are better told over tacos and a hazy IPA. And yes, I jumped out of a perfectly safe airplane once.

For more than 10 years, prison ministry was one of the places my heart lived. I spent time with people who were often reduced to the worst thing they had ever done, and I learned pretty quickly how much it matters to simply show up, listen, treat people like people, and offer a little hope without pretending life is simple. That work changed me as much as I ever hoped to change anyone else. Life has pulled me away from it for a while, but when things settle down, it’s something I fully intend to return to.

At the end of the day, the best part of life is the people in it. Give me family, friends, a table full of food, good laughs, and nowhere we need to be for a while. I like road trips, new places, fixing things that probably should have been left alone, meeting new people, taking chances, and seeing what happens next. I’m happiest surrounded by people I love, doing something worth remembering.
